![]() ![]() In doing so, observations are made of the main tendencies in the ®eld of neologisms Ð both linguistic and non-linguistic ones. At the end, in special sections, neologisms are categorized and commented upon according to culturally de®ned basic areas of life and knowledge: in politics (bureaucracy, administration, etc.), in technical innovations and technologies of various kinds, in the media, in entertainment, in fashion, and ®nally in the domain of sports. ![]() The main derivational patterns native to Serbian (pre®xation, suxation, compounding, etc.) are explained as well. The focus of attention is primarily on borrowings (Graecisms, Latinisms, Anglicisms, Anglo-Graecisms, AngloLatinisms, common Europeanisms, and calques formed in ``translation,'' along with Gallicisms, Italianisms, Germanisms, Russianisms, etc.). ![]() This article analyses the basic patterns by which neologisms have been made in Serbian over the last few decades.
